Begin your Easter celebrations on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 7:30 Mountain daylight time by participating in a live stream or satellite broadcast of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra. They will be performing Handel's beloved oratorio Messiah at Temple Square. Wherever you are in the world, you are invited to sing along with the choir and orchestra and world-class soloists. Community and church organizations may wish to prepare to sing Messiah as a group activity using any of the options below. According to Ron Jarrett, the choir’s president, “This is a wonderful way to celebrate the birth, life, death, and Resurrection of Christ with all Christians of the world.”
During the Choir’s 2016 Easter Messiah concert digital stream, more than 170,000 people in over 190 countries around the world viewed it in their homes, or with larger groups in churches, schools, and community centers. Many others joined as their own Messiah events took place using the on-demand Internet stream available from the Choir’s website for a limited period following the live performance.

Watch online
Watch the concert on LDS.org, , mormontabernaclechoir.org/messiah,, or the Mormon Channel, on Friday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. (Mountain daylight time).
Satellite broadcast
The concert will also be broadcast over the Church satellite system. Multiple satellite air times will be available to accommodate local needs.
On-demand
The live stream will be available from the choir’s website during the Easter season (through Monday, April 2) to accommodate time zones and schedules. It will not be downloadable.
Stake technology specialists
Stake technology specialists should refer to the broadcast schedule when it becomes available approximately two weeks before the event.
Tickets
Free tickets for the live concert are required and will be available in late February 2018. Tickets will be distributed only online at lds.org/events. Admission to this event is limited to those ages eight and older. Patrons without tickets are invited to stand by for last-minute seating. The standby line will form at the Tabernacle flagpole on Temple Square at 6:00 p.m. for the evening performances on Thursday and Friday, March 22 and 23, 2018.
Tickets to the live event
Performances of Messiah will be heard in three locations on March 23: the live concert in the Tabernacle, a premium simulcast in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building Legacy Theater, and a closed-circuit simulcast in the Conference Center Theater. Tickets will be distributed for all three locations on a first-come, first-served basis exclusively through Temple Square Events at lds.org/events.
This musical masterpiece by George Frideric Handel, first performed in the spring of 1742, has become one of the world’s most beloved musical works. Traditionally, the Messiah has been performed at Christmas to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. It is, however, a study of the birth, life, ministry, crucifixion, resurrection and atonement of our Saviour Jesus Christ and should be remembered at Easter. He is our Saviour and Redeemer.

Watch Two Amazing Videos: Click on the link:“Hallelujah.” The first video was produced by the Church in cooperation with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and features the Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square in a large virtual choir. Singers from all over the world submitted videos singing their vocal part of Handel’s “Hallelujah” chorus. These were then compiled together with a performance of Choir and Orchestra to make an amazing virtual choir. These videos are part of the way we are lifting up our voices to say what “Hallelujah” means: “Praise Ye, the Lord!” The second video is a timely tribute to Jesus Christ, the Messiah of the world, produced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This video was shot on location in Israel and other venues around the world. It is a fitting companion to Handel’s brilliant score, capturing the essence of the ministry of the Saviour for us today.
