25 Ways in 25 Days
'Each year, on the Family Home Evening just before December, our family has a tradition which we call, 'Countdown to Christmas.' We plan out every day up until Christmas day in a 'Sleeps Countdown,' starting with 25 sleeps until Christmas and ending on Christmas Eve. Each day we do one special activity to commemorate Christmas time. Of course, there are the concerts, recitals, sports events and family get-togethers but scattered in the mix are simple service projects. Some of our favourites have been helping with the Food Bank Christmas Hampers, singing Christmas carols to widows, baking treats for our neighbours and inviting families over to our home to make old-fashioned spudnuts.
We love the opportunity to celebrate Christmas all month long. Christmas is about seeking opportunities to serve. It reminds us of that babe wrapped in swaddling clothes who brought forgiveness, repentance and redemption into the world. Simple acts of service are one way we can show Him our love and devotion. #LighttheWorld.'
