25 Ways in 25 Days – The Potter Family Edmonton, Alberta
The Potter family of the Edmonton Alberta Millwoods Stake decided to Light the World by taking their two younger children, Bria and Cristian to teach them about service by doing what Jesus Christ did. Mike and Kim Potter took their family three different places in the city of Edmonton that benefit the community through service. Their plan was to bring a small gift and letter thanking each organization for their contribution to the community.
They visited Edmonton Emergency Relief Services, an organization that provides assistance to refugees.
This is the Feed the Hungry day and the Potters went to The Mustard Seed - a local inner city homeless shelter where they gave food the people waiting - it is the coldest week of the year in our city so they were out in -27 degrees Celsius doing what the Saviour would do…an example to all of us.
The final stop was the local Food Bank to show their appreciation for the selfless service of those who help the hungry in our city. The Potters want their experience to inspire others to follow the example of Jesus Christ by serving others in their community.
